Patrick Naef

Patrick Naef is a senior research associate at the University of Geneva. As a trained anthropologist and a cultural geographer, he is conducting research on collective memory; violence and criminal governance; the transformation of cities and the critical approaches to ‘resilience’. He explored these topics principally in Colombia, The United States, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. He is also collaborating with several community organizations active in cultural and urban development in Switzerland and Colombia. Patrick Naef obtained a PhD in geography at the University of Geneva in 2014. He was a visiting scholar at the Department of Anthropology of UC-Berkeley from 2014 to 2016.
